The Rise of Kyudo in Asia

SEA Kyudo Network website has finally launched with the support of Kyudo organisations and interest groups in Southeast Asia countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and more. This launch reflects the resolve from each country representative to increase collaboration and generate greater interest in Kyudo in this region.

The network was initially established in 2015 to help promote Kyudo within the Southeast Asia region and to foster close relationship amongst practitioners within the Southeast Asia region. Over the recent decade, Kyudo in Asia has seen significant growth in terms of awareness, activities and number of active practitioners. Thanks to the efforts of the founding members from various countries, many can continue to pursue their journey in this region.

Recovery from the Pandemic

Although many countries have experienced hardship the past two years, most have adapted during this period so that kyudoka(s) may still continue to practice and learn despite experiencing dojo restrictions. This opens up many opportunities for exchanges and collaborations via online communication tools such as Zoom and Google Meet. As borders start to open up, Southeast Asia is poised once again to become the most active region for Kyudo practitioners.
