The Malaysia Kyudo Association (MKYA) is honored to announce it will be hosting The 2nd Asia Oceania Kyudo Gathering , which also serves as The 8th Southeast Asia Kyudo Gathering.

This significant event will bring together Kyudo practitioners from across the region for two days of competition, practice, and friendship.

The Spirit of the Gathering

The gathering's official objective is "to promote and develop goodwill among Kyudo practitioners across the Asia Oceania region".

In his welcome message, MKYA President Hon Shen Ow Yong states that the event is a place where "tradition, discipline, and friendship come together". He emphasizes the goal of "developing new friendships and deepening the understanding between nations of different cultures and traditions".

This sentiment is shared by the event's sponsors and supporters:

  • IKYF President KATOH Izuru describes Kyudo as a "profoundly spiritual path and a means of personal development" , adding that the gathering will "further deepen bonds of friendship and trust".
  • ANKF President NAGATANI Kiichiro highlights Kyudo as a "'Way' that aims to cultivate character through the training of both mind and body" and notes the event's "profound significance for the further development of Kyudo and the promotion of international understanding".
  • H.E. Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia SHIKATA Noriyuki expresses his hope that "kyudo will continue to serve as a bridge of friendship and mutual respect".

Event Highlights

This event is made possible with sponsorship from the International Kyudo Federation (IKYF) and the All Nippon Kyudo Federation (ANKF) , and with generous support from the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia and The Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur (JFKL).

(3 archers per team)
